Recently, more and more researchers have focused on electronic nose. And the range of research and the application of electronic nose especially in foodstuff, have also been enlarged. The paper introduced the research progress of electronic nose application on foodstuff quality inspection, freshness and maturity determination, detection of adulteration and initial spoilage inspection around the world in recent years. We also proposed severed emerging issues that deserve attention and research in the future.
