Opinions are widely divided in academic circles as to the explication of the Chinese myth of the moon and the investigation into the toad rabbit in the moon. But most of them remain at the phonetic level,each holding an opinion. If the interchangeable theory of the shift of toad to rabbit is expounded and proved in the light of multiple branches of learning, doubt will be raised about its rationality. The criticism method of prototype and parent subject is applied for the purpose of probing deepen nuance of moon myth in the course of the investigation and the explanation of its connotation.
