RNAi and Its Application in Plant Genetic Improvement

摘要 RNAi(RNA interfering)是由与靶基因同源的双链RNA引发的、在动植物中普遍存在的序列特异的转录后基因沉默.这种现象在动物、植物和真菌中广泛存在并被证实,因此可能是生物的发育调控及抗外源或内源侵染的一种普遍的生理机制.对RNAi的研究是目前生物学领域研究的热点之一,近几年来该技术已经在功能基因组学、遗传学和医学等诸学科得到大量应用.本文将就RNAi的机制研究及其在植物遗传改良中的应用进行综述. RNAi is triggered by double-strand RNA that is homologous with the target gene. It refers to the lilencing of the meditated specific gene in post transcriptional level,which is a general phenomenon in animals and plants.A lot of researches have been applied to demonstrate it as a reserved mechanism for gene regulation in animals, plants and fungi. And it is critical in the developing processes of organisms to protect them from invasion by both exogenous (eg. viruses) and endogenous (eg. mobile genetic elements) genetic parasites. It has now become a focus in the biological research and had been proved as a powerful tool in functional genomics, genetics and medical study these years. Here, the current state of knowledge regarding the mechanistic bases of RNAi and its applications in plant genetic improvement will be summarized.
