Why the east China continent has activited since Mesozoic? --presents by this paper as a principal scientific problem for study on the East Asia continent dynamics. The authors propose a new key clue to the study--the formation of the lithosphere root and in sequence their de--rooting are the fundamental cause for the activation of the east China continent, on the basis of the main geological facts obtained from recently ten--years researches as follows: the lithosphere is greatly thickened by j150--200 km during the formation of the east China continent assembled from several continental blocks in the indoChina movement, but the lithosphere is thinned by 60--80 km since Cenozoic. Finally, the authors suggest five groups of the scientific problems to investigate in the future.
