The quality of clinical practice affects the theoretical study and practical level of students. The authors have got more satisfactory results by using bed-side teaching combined with PBL teaching mode in the department of digestive internal medicine for clinical practice students. The model is based on students as the main body and teachers as the guidance, with problem-oriented and typical cases. And it has constantly improved students＇ independence and self-innovation capability, transforming their basic knowledge into their clinical thinking, while enhancing their own thinking and ability. It is helpful for students＇ setting their life-long learning habits and methods, thus greatly increasing their learning efficiency of clinical practice.
