Glass fiber and elastomer EMG were blended with polyphenylene sulfide （PPS） resin, and the PPS composite was prepared by a twin-screw extruder. The forcing and toughening effect of PPS were studied. The results showed that the reinforcing effect of glass fiber was quite obvious. The tensile strength of the blends doubled and reached to 110MPa, when the mass fraction of glass fiber was 20%. But the toughening effect of glass fiber was quite limited. The blend system could gain the maximum impact strength when the concentration of glass fiber arrived 30%. The toughening efficiency of EMG was higher, notched impact strength of the blends increased to 18.2 kJ/m^2 , when the content of EMG was 12%. But the tensile strength of the blends decreased to some extent.
