On-line air and pulverized coal monitoring system provides effective detecting method for combustion optimization, energy saving and emission cutting. In the I＆C design for direct-fired boilers, there is not an unified and reliable method. Through comprisions of usually used methods for on-line air and pulverized coal, differential pressure method for air velocity with self-cleaned function is selected, which protects sensors from abrasion and jam effectively. Electrostatic method for pulverized coal monitoring is also selected, which reduces the debugging difficulty and keeps the measuring precise. The paper also gives two designs for the system added into the DCS system, to meet the need for the different projects.
