A metaphor use based review of Business English:An Integrated Course

摘要 本文运用语料库方法,以隐喻使用为评估要素对《商务英语综合教程》进行微观评估,借此实现内部评估。评估发现,教材课文的主要内容与商务、经济话题相关,与这些话题相关的语言隐喻融合了商务英语学习者所需的语言知识、商务知识和文化知识,体现了商务英语中常见的概念隐喻。该教材为培养学习者的隐喻思维和跨文化交际能力提供了有效的语言输入,满足了学习者的目标需求和学习需求。 This paper gives an internal evaluation of the textbook Business English : An Integrated Course through the micro-evaluation of metaphor use in the textbook by the corpus method. It reveals that the main topics of the textbook are related to business and economy, that linguistic metaphors for business and economy involve linguistic knowledge, business knowledge and cultural knowledge necessary for business English learners, and that linguistic metaphors include common conceptual metaphors in business English. The textbook provides sufficient linguistic input for developing learners' metaphorical thinking ability and cross-cuhural communicative competence, and therefore satisfies their target needs and learning needs.
