Continuous cropping obstacle restricts sustainable development of agricultural production, which is an important issue that needs to be solved urgently. It is caused by many factors. The variation of soil microbe communities and enzyme activity that plays an important role for soil health was considered the main factors. This article focuses on the variation of soil activity of soil enzyme, microorganism population and community composition and specific nficroorganism caused by continuous cropping. Additionally, it was proposed that effects of the variation of microbe eonsortiums activity and function and interaction among then] on continuous cropping obstacle should be studied as key research using high-throughput sequencing technology, functional gene microarrays and traditional molecular biology techniques. Meanwhile, it was suggested that continuous cropping obstacle might be solved through the impact of root exudates on soil microflora and microbial cells. The objective was to supply reference for sustainable development of agricultural ecosystems.
