Objective： To observe clinical effects of the Er＇chen decoction on upper airway cough syndrome in children. Methods： 60 patients were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, 30 cases in each. The treatment group was treated with the Er＇chen decoction. The control group received Montelukast sodium chewable tablets（Singulair） and Ketotifen. A course of treatment lasted for 14 days, for 2 courses. Results： In the treatment group, 15 cases were cured; 12 cases were better; 3 cases were invalid; the total efficiency was 90.0%. In the control group, 10 cases were cured; 13 cases were better; 7 cases were invalid; the total efficiency was 76.7%, P〈0.05. Conclusion： The Er＇chen decoction was significantly effective on upper airway cough syndrome in children.
