Objective To investigate the clinical effect of modified Qingzhong decoction in the treatment of dampness-heat obstruction chronic gastritis. Methods 96 cases of patients who met the inclusion criteria with dampness-heat obstruction chronic gastritis were randomly divided into Western medicine group and traditional Chinese medicine group, with 48 cases in each group. The Western medicine group applied conventional Western medicine symptomatic treatment. The traditional Chinese medicine group applied mod- ified Qingzhong decoction. Conclusion There were significant differences in the total effective rate and adverse reaction rate between the two groups （P〈0.05） . The curative effect of the TCM group was better than that of the Western medicine group. Conclusion The modified Qingzhong decoction in the treatment of dampness-heat obstruction chronic gastritis has good clinical curative effect. So it is worthy of clinical use.
