Objective To discuss the efficacy of two repair methods in residual root and crown. Methods 62 patients undergoing the repair of residual root and crown（83 teeth） from March 2016 to March 2017 in our hospital were selected. The subjects were randomly assigned to two groups, 31 cases each group. The control group received the porcelain fused to metal（PFM） with cast metal post; the observation group received the PFM with glass fiber post. The efficacy was observed. Results Within 6 m-1 y of followup visit, the success rate in the observation group was significantly higher than control group（P〈0.05）;the incidence rate of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than control group（P〈0.05）.Conclusion The glass fiber post has an obvious effect in the repair of residual root and crown. It is worthy of clinical promotion.
