Objective To explore the clinical curative effect of antibiotics combined with glucocorticoid in the treatment of elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary emphysema. Methods 110 cases of elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary emphysema admitted to our hospital from October 2015 to October 2017 were selected and randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 55 cases in each group. The control group received conventional treatment, while the observation group was treated with antibiotics combined with glucocorticoid. The clinical treatment effect were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, no statistical difference was found in the PaO2 and PaCO2 levels between the two groups（P〈0.05）. After treatment, the PaO2 level of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the PaCO2 level was significantly lower than that of the control group（all P〈0.05）. The treatment total effective rate of the observation group was 92.7%, significantly higher than 70.9% of the control group（P〈0.05）. Conclusions Antibiotics combined with glucocorticoid in the treatment of elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary emphysema can significantly improve the curative effect.
