Aiming at the problems of poor real-time control and high failure rate of coal feeder in coal preparation plant, an automatic control system of coal feeder based on PLC control technology was proposed. Based on the analysis of the composition of the coal feeder automatic control system, the hardware of the system was selected, and the software design of the automatic control system was emphatically analyzed, including the coal feeder control system flow, work flow and interlock design. The design scheme was applied to the automatic quantitative loading system of a coal preparation plant. The result shows that the belt transportation and maintenance personnel are reduced by 30%, the service efficiency of the belt is increased by 20%, the service life is prolonged, and the design goal is achieved.
