e-Infrastructures became critical platforms that integrate computational resources, facilities and repositories globally. The coordination and harmonization of advanced e-Infrastructure project developed with partners... e-Infrastructures became critical platforms that integrate computational resources, facilities and repositories globally. The coordination and harmonization of advanced e-Infrastructure project developed with partners from Europe, Latin America, Arabia, Africa, China, and India contributed to developing interoperable platforms based on identity federation and science gateway technologies. This paper presents these technologies to support key services in the development of Arabia networking and services platform for research and education. The platform provides scientists, teachers, and students with seamless access to a variety of advanced resources, services, and applications available at regional e-Infrastructures in Europe and elsewhere. Users simply enter the credentials provided by their home institutions to get authenticated and do not need digital certificate-based mechanisms. Twenty applications from five scientific domains were deployed and integrated. Results showed that on average about 35,000 monthly jobs are running for a total of about 17,500 CPU wall-clock hours. Therefore, seamlessly integrated e-Infrastructures for regional e-Science activities are important resources that support scientists, students, and faculty with computational services and linkage to global research communities. 展开更多

Introduction of new products/ services, version management of existing products/ services, management of customer/partner connections, management of multi-channel service delivery (web, social media, web etc.), merger/acquisitions of new businesses and adoption of new innovations/technologies will drive data growth in business applications. These datasets exist in different sharing nothing business applications at different locations and in various forms. So, to make sense of this information and derive insight, it is essential to break the data silos, streamline data retrieval and simplify information access across the entire organization. The information access framework must support just-in-time processing capabilities to bring data from multiple sources, be fast and powerful enough to transform and process huge amounts of data quickly, and be agile enough to accommodate new data sources per user needs. This paper discusses the SAP HANA Smart Data Access data-virtualization technology to enable unified access to heterogenous data across the organization and analysis of huge volume of data in real-time using SAP HANA in-memory platform. 展开更多

二战后,多数东南亚国家都以欧美政治体制为管理国家的模式。马来西亚采用了英国的联邦和国会制。联邦制的采纳,主要是为了让马来亚和北婆罗洲的不同族群和势力在享受一个大政治共同体的同时,也可保留本身的文化和宗教特色。但是独立半... 二战后,多数东南亚国家都以欧美政治体制为管理国家的模式。马来西亚采用了英国的联邦和国会制。联邦制的采纳,主要是为了让马来亚和北婆罗洲的不同族群和势力在享受一个大政治共同体的同时,也可保留本身的文化和宗教特色。但是独立半世纪后,联邦政府的权力不断扩张,地方政府的管辖权一再收缩,导致地方精英和社会出现不满的声音,甚至要求脱离联邦,成为独立国家。本文记录了独立时期,砂拉越这个多元种族的社会,少数地方精英如何借助联邦精英的支持,巩固本身的统治权;而联邦精英又如何透过他们所扶持的地方领袖,削弱不符联邦精英利益和议程的少数族群文化和权益。研究成果是,以压制和削弱地方宗教、文化和教育权益来满足统治精英对国家的想象,表面上可以获得一时的平静,实际上是累积不满,酝酿分离运动。 展开更多

How Interlinks Influence Federated over SPARQL Endpoints 认领

SPARQL endpoints conceptually represent RPC-style, coarse-grained data access mechanisms. Nevertheless, through the potential interlinking of the contained entities, SPARQL endpoints should be able to over distinct advantages over plain Web APIs. To our knowledge, to date, there has been no study conducted that gauges the impact of the link on SPARQL query execution, especially in a federated set-up. In this paper, we investigate how the existence and types of typed links influences the execution characteristics of different SPARQL federation frameworks. In order to measure the query performance, we propose a combined cost model based on a statistic analysis of the query performance metrics that involves parameters such as type of link, the data catalogues and cache, number of links, and number of distinct subjects. As result, we show that number of distinct subject and number of links have significant impact on Federation over SPARQL Endpoints performance whereas type of link does not have significantly influence in federation query performance. 展开更多
