Foliar Particulate Matter Distribution in Urban Road System of Beijing, China 预览

Particulate matter(PM), one of the most important pollutants of traffic emission, threatens the health of urban ecosystems and citizens. Roadside trees play an important role in trapping PM, and the foliar PM load is a useful indicator for air PM pollution in road systems. To detect the relationships of foliar PM load with road structures, urbanization, and meteorology in road systems, we studied a widely-planted tree Sophora japonica L. in 100 roads and 10 yards of Beijing, China, and found that the foliar PM loads increased with the distances from the urban centre(DUC) linearly, while decreased with the road density. All-subsets regression analysis indicated that DUC, average monthly relative humidity, average monthly wind speed, and mean annual wind speed were the most important factors in predicting foliar PM load, rather than general situation of buildings and road cleanliness. The monthly relative humidity and monthly wind speed had a negative correlation to foliar PM, while the annual relative humidity and annual wind speed had a positive correlation to foliar PM. Suburban areas and these effective factors should be highlighted in PM control in Beijing. 展开更多

The road lighting system and the road greening system, which are mutually interrelated and independent, are two important parts in the urban road environment. Unreasonable road lighting is easy to induce light pollution and has a great negative impact on the physiology and growth of garden plants in the urban green space. In this paper, 21 kinds of common tree species in the urban green space of Zhengzhou were selected as the research object, and the photosynthetic physiological parameters of landscape trees under the LED light source were observed using LI-6400 Photosynthesis System. This paper attempted to find the critical point for initiating photosynthesis of different types of tree species under a certain light source and then calculated the safe distance between lighting fixtures and landscape trees. The results showed that road lighting interfered with the photosynthetic physiological activities of the surveyed trees, affecting the normal dormancy of the plants at night;the sensitivity of different tree species to night lighting was different, and there were some differences in the light compensation points, so the corresponding safe distance was also different. It is hoped that this study can provide a valuable reference and scientific basis for urban road greening and lighting design. 展开更多

Two centuries ago,Asia delivered over 60 percent of world production;in the middle of the 20th century it was less than 20 percent.Currently,it is twice as large and this share is still increasing,above all but not only,because of China whose production is still growing at a rate twice as fast as the world average.China is trying to maintain high economic dynamics,inter alia,through investment external expansion.This aim is to be served,among others,by the infrastructure project,drawn up with enormous verve,known as the New Silk Road,which the Middle Kingdom addresses to 65 countries on three continents.While some hope for accelerating their own economic growth,others warn against the risk of becoming dependent on China.The article analyzes these challenges,pointing to the desired directions of irreversible evolution globalization by giving it a more inclusive character,which is also strongly emphasized by the Chinese authorities in their official enunciations. 展开更多

北京市六环内城市道路附属绿地木本植物多样性及结构特征 预览

【目的】探讨北京市六环内城市道路附属绿地木本植物多样性以及结构特征,梳理北京市城区道路绿化建设现状,探索北京市城市道路附属绿地存在的问题及梯度变化规律。【方法】以0.5m的WorldView2遥感影像为基础,目视解译北京六环外1km范围... 【目的】探讨北京市六环内城市道路附属绿地木本植物多样性以及结构特征,梳理北京市城区道路绿化建设现状,探索北京市城市道路附属绿地存在的问题及梯度变化规律。【方法】以0.5m的WorldView2遥感影像为基础,目视解译北京六环外1km范围内道路,以每种类型道路总长度的10%作为调查长度,利用Arcgis对该范围已命名道路随机选取实地勘测路段,调查选取路段木本植物树种、胸径、冠幅等指标,并对调研数据进行多样性及结构分析。【结果】本研究共记录北京市道路附属绿地木本植物33科、61属、77种,其中乔木59种、灌木15种、藤本3种;使用数量最多、频度最高的树种为国槐;北京本地种62种;植物丰富度、多样性指数均沿环路呈现了由城内向城外逐步增加的变化趋势;乔木平均胸径24.07cm,平均胸径沿环路由内向外逐渐减小,胸径等级分布在Ⅱ级数量最多;径级较大的树木占比由城内向城外逐渐减少,国道与胡同较大径级树木比例高于其他类型道路;乔木平均冠幅6.33m,Ⅳ级冠幅即6~8m最为常见;各环路间冠幅由城内向城外逐渐减小,国道与胡同大冠幅树种占有较大比例。【结论】北京市道路绿地的物种多样性不高,优势树种优势度过强,尤其是北京市市树国槐,无论在数量上还是使用频率上都远高于其他树种;在乔木树种中,青年期占比较高,分布不均匀,幼年期树种过少;整体树冠覆盖较好,冠幅分级分布均衡;北京市道路绿地受城市化进程影响明显,沿环路由城内向城外显示出物种增加、胸径和冠幅减小的梯度变化;城市道路(环路、主干道、次干道、支路、胡同)物种丰富度明显高于公路(高速公路、国道、省道),大径级树木多分布于国道与胡同,公路冠幅大于城市道路。 展开更多

Simulated Influence of the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation on Summer Eurasian Nonuniform Warming since the Mid-1990s 预览

Based on ensemble experiments with three atmospheric general circulation models(AGCMs), this study investigates the role of the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation(AMO) in shaping the summer nonuniform warming over the Eurasian continent since the mid-1990 s. The results validate that the positive-phase AMO can indeed cause nonuniform warming,with predominant amplified warming over Europe–West Asia and Northeast Asia, but with much weaker warming over Central Asia. The underlying mechanism is then diagnosed from the perspective that the boundary forcing modulates the intrinsic atmospheric variability. The results highlight the role of the Silk Road Pattern(SRP), an intrinsic teleconnection pattern across the subtropical Eurasian continent propagating along the Asian jet. The SRP can not only be identified from the AGCM control experiments with the climatological sea surface temperature(SST), but can also be simulated by the AMO-related SST anomaly(SSTA) forcing. Furthermore, diagnostic linear baroclinic model experiments are conducted, and the results suggest that the SRP can be triggered by the AMO-related tropical diabatic heating. The AMO-triggered SRP-like responses feature anticyclonic circulations over Europe–West Asia and Northeast Asia, but cyclonic circulation over Central Asia. These responses cause increased warm advection towards Europe–West Asia and Northeast Asia, reduced precipitation and cloud cover, and then increased downward shortwave radiation. This increased warm advection and increased downward shortwave radiation together cause amplified warming in Europe–West Asia and Northeast Asia. The situation is opposite for Central Asia. 展开更多

Bitumen emulsion sprays have an important part to play in the achievement of durable,efficient road pavement construction.Clearly,spraying of bond coats or tack coats at the interface of the bound layers should improve the likelihood of full bond and of resistance to the entry of water through the layers,both of which are needed to meet the design objectives and for the pavement to continue to function properly.BS 594987 recommends bond coats,which are typically polymer modified bitumen emulsion,as best practice and their use is prevalent for the whole range of paved areas in the UK.Recent work examines the effect of different rates of spread of bitumen emulsion sprays on interlayer adhesion and permeability,and attempts to ascertain whether there are optimum quantities to obtain the desired effects. 展开更多
