The use of iron ores bearing titanium as a raw material is an effective measure to prevent hearth erosion and prolong the life of a blast furnace.In this research,the effect of titanium content on the precipitation behaviors of high-melting phases of carbon-saturated molten pig iron were studied by confocal scanning laser microscopy.The results showed that,when the titanium content was less than 0.25wt%,Fe3C was precipitated as a single phase from the molten carbon-saturated iron.The growth rate of the precipitated Fe3C crystals was very high,reaching 7387μm2/s.When the titanium content in the molten pig iron was greater than 0.47wt%,TiC crystals precipitated first.The shape and size of the precipitated TiC crystals did not obviously change.After TiC was precipitated,the fluidity of the molten pig iron worsened.With a decrease in temperature,Fe3C was also precipitated but the growth rate of Fe3C was limited by the presence of the first precipitated TiC phase.The crystal size of the precipitated Fe3C was much smaller than that of pure Fe3C. 展开更多

Experimental investigation and thermodynamic calculation were carried out to study the effect of slag on alloying elements during electroslag remelting with developing a thermodynamic model to control titanium and aluminum in in got.The thermodynamic model based on ion and molecule coexistence theory and conservation law of element atoms was established to analyze the change in aluminum and titanium along the height of ingot.The results show that low CaO slag is suitable for electroslag remelting of metal containing high titanium-to-aluminum ratio.As electroslag remelting process consists of slag temperature-rising and temperature-stable periods,TiO2 should be added into water-cooled copper mold during temperature-rising period in order to keep the thermodynamic equilibrium between titanium and aluminum,and the amount of TiO2 is the difference value calculated by the reaction between titanium and alumina at 1477 and 1677℃. 展开更多

The study aims to demonstrate the suitability of the 3DPMD for the production of titanium components with and without reinforcing particles in layer-by-layer design. Various demonstrators are prepared and analyzed. The microstructure, the porosity and the hardness values of the different structures are compared with each other through metallographic cross-sections. The uniform distribution of the carbides and the interaction with the matrix was analyzed by SEM and EDX.The miller-test method (ASTM G75-07) was used to determine data for the relative abrasivity of the structures. In summary, 3DPMD offers the possibility to produce titanium structures with and without reinforced particles. Using automated routines, it is possible to generate metal structures using welding robots directly from the CAD drawings. Microstructures and properties are directly related to the process and therefore material-process-property relationships are discussed within this work. 展开更多

选用硼酸钠-氯化钙体系为电解质,采用熔盐电解法在钛表面渗硼,研究熔盐温度及渗硼时间对渗层物相、形貌及渗层厚度的影响,并对渗层生长动力学进行了分析。利用XRD对渗硼试样表面进行物相分析,利用扫描电镜(SEM)观察渗硼试样的断面形貌... 选用硼酸钠-氯化钙体系为电解质,采用熔盐电解法在钛表面渗硼,研究熔盐温度及渗硼时间对渗层物相、形貌及渗层厚度的影响,并对渗层生长动力学进行了分析。利用XRD对渗硼试样表面进行物相分析,利用扫描电镜(SEM)观察渗硼试样的断面形貌并采用能谱(EDS)进行元素分析。结果表明:在温度为1153~1293 K、电流密度为500 A/m2,通电15~60 min的条件下,Ti表面得到的硼化物渗层上层是均匀致密的TiB2,下层是嵌入基体的针状TiB;在1293 K下渗硼60 min后,所得渗层中TiB2厚度约为8.4μm。根据TiB2渗层厚度随时间的变化关系,计算出渗层在1193、1243和1293 K的生长速率常数分别为5.85×10-15、1.24×10-14和2.10×10-14 m2/s,TiB2渗层生长激活能为152.02 kJ/mol。 展开更多

Two TiAl alloys,Ti^47.5Al-3.7(Cr,V,Zr)and Ti77.5Al-3.7(Cr,V,Zr)-0.1C(at.%),were melted and cast with the same process,respectively.Microstructures with strongly oriented lamellae were both observed in these two alloys followed by hot isostatic pressing and heat treatment.Ti2AlC carbides were identified in the alloy with C addition.Stress rupture tests were carried out at 800 and 850°C,with tensile stress from 220 to 400 MPa,respectively.It was shown that the alloy with C experienced much longer lives than the other,especially under the condition of 800°C/260 MPa,800°C/300 MPa,850°C/220 MPa,850°C/240 MPa and 850°C/260 MPa.Observation of ruptured specimens revealed that the microstructure stability was improved significantly in the alloy with C addition which is attributed to the strengthening effect of Ti-Al-C carbides.The Ti2AlC carbides mainly increased the resistance of dislocation passing through the interfaces and kept the integrity of the interfaces.And Ti3AlC carbide was formed during stress rupture process,which could not only effectively act as the barrier of dislocation movement inside the lamellae,but also strengthen the lamellae itself. 展开更多

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the morphology of titanium implant surfaces on dental plaque biofilm formation and the antimicrobial effects of mouthrinses on dental plaque biofilms regarding these titanium surfaces by using an open biofilm model. The average surface roughness(RA) of three types of titanium surfaces(Smooth, hydroxyapatite(HA), sandblast large grit and acid-etching(SLA)) were tested by atomic force microscope(AFM). Subgingival plaques were collected and cultured on titanium surfaces for 4 hours to 2 weeks. After treatment with mouthrinses, characterization of dental plaque biofilms was tested by field-emission SEM(FESEM) and confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM). The results of AFM and SEM showed that the surface roughness and biofilm thickness of HA and SLA surfaces were significantly higher than those of smooth surface. In addition, it was revealed that the mouthrinses were effective on the killing of young dental plaque biofilms, while the more mature biofilm(14-day-old) exhibited a stronger resistance to mouthrinses used in this study. In conclusion, the roughness of titanium surfaces can affect the dental plaque biofilm formation and Colgate Plax and Listerine COOL MINT are effective mouthrinses to kill dental plaques at the early stage of biofilm growth on the titanium implant surfaces. 展开更多

Energy band gap of titanium dioxide(TiO2) semiconductor plays significant roles in many practical applications of the semiconductor and determines its appropriateness in technological and industrial applications such as UV absorption, pigment,photo-catalysis, pollution control systems and solar cells among others. Substitution of impurities into crystal lattice structure is the most commonly used method of tuning the band gap of TiO2 for specific application and eventually leads to lattice distortion. This work utilizes the distortion in the lattice structure to estimate the band gap of doped TiO2, for the first time, through hybridization of a particle swarm optimization algorithm(PSO) with a support vector regression(SVR) algorithm for developing a PSO-SVR model. The precision and accuracy of the developed PSO-SVR model was further justified by applying the model for estimating the effect of cobalt-sulfur co-doping, nickel-iodine co-doping, tungsten and indium doping on the band gap of TiO2 and excellent agreement with the experimentally reported values was achieved. Practical implementation of the proposed PSO-SVR model would further widen the applications of the semiconductor and reduce the experimental stress involved in band gap determination of TiO2. 展开更多

Buckling and post-buckling behavior of titanium alloy stiffened panels under shear load

However, the titanium alloy structures are less studied. This work investigates the structural behavior of Ti6Al4V titanium alloy stiffened panels under in-plane shear load by experiments and numerical analysis. After the shear tests, the buckling instability, the post-buckling process and the failure mechanism of the specimen were obtained. The Finite Element(FE) models were established with the subsequent validation verification. A parametric analysis was implemented to study the influence of stringer thickness and stringer height on the behavior of the stiffened panels. The results show that after the initial local buckling on the skin, the buckling mode jumps several times with the increase of load. The stringers twist when the load reaches a certain level, and finally the structure damages due to the plastic deformation and the global buckling. The shear clip has little effect on the buckling and failure loads. Compared to the relatively large effect on the buckling load, the influence of the stringer thickness and stringer height on the failure load is neglectable.According to the parametric analysis, the stringer thickness influences the final buckling mode and failure mode, while the stringer height affects the buckling mode transformation. 展开更多

Continuous carbon fiber reinforced lithium aluminosilicate glass ceramics matrix composites(Cf/LAS composites) are joined to Ti60 alloy vacuum brazed using Ti-Zr-Ni-Cu brazing alloy. The effects of the brazing temperature on the interfacial microstructure and mechanical properties of brazed joints are investigated in details. The interfacial microstructure varies apparently with an increase of the brazing temperature. The thicknesses of the banded Ti solid solution(Ti(s, s)) and the reactive layer between Cf/LAS composites and the interlayer grow gradually. The mechanical properties of brazed joints increase firstly and then decrease with an increasing temperature. In addition, a joint that is brazed at 980℃ for 10 min shows the highest shear strength of$38.13 MPa. At the same time, the fracture paths of brazed joints also change as the temperature increases. When the brazing temperature is 950℃, the fracture position is in the TiC + ZrC +Ti2O + ZrSi2+ Ti5Si3 layer on the composite side. When the brazing temperature is 980℃, the fracture position is on the side of the braze seam(Ti, Zr)2(Ni, Cu), Ti2O + ZrSi2+ Ti5Si3 layer,and carbon fiber in the composite material. When the brazing temperature is 990℃, the fracture position is in the Ti2O + ZrSi2+ Ti5Si3 layer on the composite side and the carbon fiber in the composite material. 展开更多

Cutting heat has significant effects on the machined surface integrity of titanium alloys in the aerospace field. Many unwanted problems such as surface burning, work hardening, and tool wear can be induced by high cutting temperatures. Therefore, it is necessary to accurately predict the cutting temperature of titanium alloys. In this paper, an improved analytical model of the cutting temperature in orthogonal cutting of titanium alloys is proposed based on the Komanduri-Hou model and the Huang-Liang model. The temperatures at points in a cutting tool, chip, and workpiece are calculated by using the moving heat source method. The tool relief angle is introduced into the proposed model, and imaginary mirrored heat sources of the shear plane heat source and the frictional heat source are applied to calculate the temperature rise in a semi-infinite medium. The heat partition ratio along the tool-chip interface is determined by the discretization method. For validation purpose, orthogonal cutting of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V is performed on a lathe by using a sharp tool. Experimental results show to be consistent well with those of the proposed model,yielding a relative difference of predicted temperature from 0.49% to 9.00%. The model demonstrates its ability of predicting cutting temperature in orthogonal cutting of Ti6Al4V. 展开更多

背景:羟基磷灰石具有良好的生物相容性和生物活性,具有促进干细胞黏附、增殖和骨诱导分化的作用。目的:观察羟基磷灰石涂层钛片对大鼠骨髓间充质干细胞增殖、软骨性分化的影响。方法:采用电沉积法在钛金属基底表面沉积羟基磷灰石涂层(... 背景:羟基磷灰石具有良好的生物相容性和生物活性,具有促进干细胞黏附、增殖和骨诱导分化的作用。目的:观察羟基磷灰石涂层钛片对大鼠骨髓间充质干细胞增殖、软骨性分化的影响。方法:采用电沉积法在钛金属基底表面沉积羟基磷灰石涂层(电沉积时间分别为30 min,1.5 h),用场发射扫描电子显微镜观察涂层形态,X射线衍射分析其化学组成。取4只3周龄SD雄性大鼠(购于湖北省实验动物研究中心)双侧股骨的骨髓,采用全骨髓贴壁法培养骨髓间充质干细胞,将第3代细胞接种于有涂层钛片及没有涂层纯钛片上,并进行4周的成软骨诱导分化。通过CCK-8试剂盒分析羟基磷灰石涂层对大鼠骨髓间充质干细胞增殖的影响,二甲基亚甲基蓝比色法检测各组细胞糖胺多糖含量,RT-PCR法检测各组细胞软骨相关基因的表达,评价各组骨髓间充质干细胞的成软骨能力。结果与结论:①羟基磷灰石涂层均匀分布在钛基底上,大小结构较一致,X射线衍射图谱与羟基磷灰石标准峰基本吻合;②羟基磷灰石涂层促进骨髓间充质干细胞增殖,羟基磷灰石涂层亦表现了比空白钛片组具有更好的生物活性;③羟基磷灰石涂层组较空白钛片组产生了更多的糖胺多糖,差异有显著性意义(P<0.01);④羟基磷灰石涂层组软骨相关基因(Sox9、多聚蛋白聚糖、Ⅱ型胶原、Ⅹ型胶原)的相对表达量显著高于空白钛片组(P<0.05),电沉积时间为1.5 h的羟基磷灰石涂层组的Ⅱ型胶原表达量明显高于电沉积时间30 min羟基磷灰石涂层组和空白钛片组(P<0.01);⑤结果表明,应用电化学沉积技术可以在钛片上制备均匀的羟基磷灰石涂层,且该涂层可以促进大鼠骨髓间充质干细胞增殖,具有良好的生物相容性,有利于骨髓间充质干细胞向软骨方向分化。 展开更多

Effects of N Doping on the Microstructures and Optical Properties of TiO2

TiO2 nanopowders with different nitrogen(N) dopant concentrations were first synthesized by sol-gel method. XRD, TEM, HRTEM, XPS, UV-vis DRS were used to characterize the effects of N doping on the microstructures and optical properties of TiO2. The results indicated that the prepared TiO2 only contained anatase phase with a slight distortion, and the N doping improved the dispersity of TiO2. The N doping leaded to more defects in TiO2, capturing the charge carriers and inhibiting the combination of electrons and holes. Also, the N-doped TiO2 was composed of Ti, O and N. Further, N was doped into the TiO2 lattice by substituting for O, forming the oxidized nitrogen in the form of Ti–N–O or Ti–O–N bond, and Ti was present in the form of Ti4+ in TiO2. Finally, the absorbance of N-doped TiO2 was obviously improved in both UV and visible light region. Optical absorption edges of N-doped TiO2 samples showed obvious red shift, which expanded spectral absorption range of TiO2 and improved the utilization efficiency of visible light. Nickel-Ti O2 hybrid catalysts are synthesized by electrodeposition and their catalytic activity with respect to the hydrogen evolution reaction is analyzed.Two types of titanium oxide particles,which are commercial particles of dense Ti O2 and mesoporous TiO2 particles synthesized by an aerosol method,are incorporated into the matrix of the nickel catalyst.Both nickel catalysts containing Ti O2 particles presented higher catalytic activity than the conventional nickel Watts catalyst.Mesoporous TiO2-modified nickel catalyst showed the highest catalytic activity towards HER in alkaline medium.In addition,this type of nickel catalyst increases its catalytic activity after ageing treatment,which is an indication of an increase in the electro-active area of the electrode. 展开更多

目的研究紫外线照射对两种纳米形貌钛种植体表面巨噬细胞生物学行为及炎症细胞因子分泌的影响,为紫外线照射在种植体改性方面的临床应用提供依据。方法钛试件经氢氟酸酸蚀或氢氟酸酸蚀+阳极氧化分别制备酸蚀组和氧化组钛试件各27个,场... 目的研究紫外线照射对两种纳米形貌钛种植体表面巨噬细胞生物学行为及炎症细胞因子分泌的影响,为紫外线照射在种植体改性方面的临床应用提供依据。方法钛试件经氢氟酸酸蚀或氢氟酸酸蚀+阳极氧化分别制备酸蚀组和氧化组钛试件各27个,场发射扫描电镜观察两组各1个试件的表面形貌。试件避光保存8周后,两组各取13个试件用紫外线照射48 h(即酸蚀+紫外线组和氧化+紫外线组),以未经紫外线照射的酸蚀组和氧化组钛试件作为对照。检测各组钛试件表面接触角;各组钛试件与小鼠巨噬细胞共培养4、24和72 h后,检测各组细胞黏附和增殖情况,扫描电镜观察细胞形态;液相芯片技术检测培养24和72 h时细胞上清液中肿瘤坏死因子α(tumor necrosis factor α,TNF-α)、单核细胞趋化蛋白1(monocyte chemotactic protein-1,MCP-1)和巨噬细胞炎症蛋白1α(macrophage inflammatory protein-1α,MIP-1α)的质量浓度。结果酸蚀组钛试件表面可见微米凹坑和纳米柱,氧化组钛试件表面可见微米凹坑和TiO2纳米管结构。酸蚀+紫外线组和氧化+紫外线组表面接触角(分别为20.2°±2.8°和0.0°±0.0°)均显著小于酸蚀组和氧化组(P<0.05)。培养4和24 h时各组巨噬细胞黏附和增殖差异均无统计学意义(P>0.05),培养72 h时酸蚀+紫外线组和氧化+紫外线组细胞增殖[A值分别为(0.92±0.13)和(1.10±0.08)]均分别显著大于酸蚀组和氧化组(P<0.05);两组TNF-α质量浓度[分别为(1.03±0.11)和(0.87±0.10)ng/L]、MCP-1质量浓度[分别为(301.7±50.3)和(240.8±18.7)ng/L]、MIP-1α质量浓度[分别为(224.9±30.6)和(233.9±14.9)ng/L]均分别显著小于酸蚀组和氧化组(P<0.05)。结论紫外线照射能增加两种纳米形貌钛试件亲水性,尤其是氧化+紫外线组。紫外线照射可促进两种纳米形貌钛表面巨噬细胞增殖、减轻炎症反应。 展开更多

This study aims to prepare a composite polyurethane coating through a facile synthesis process.Titanium dioxide,which is a component of the prepared hydroxyl acrylic resin polyurethane varnish,was partially substituted by wollastonite,and an optimal substitution ratio was obtained.Analyses based on scanning electron microscope,powder X-ray diffraction,and Raman scattering measurements demonstrated that the addition of wollastonite caused nearly no change in the basic structure of the coating.Coating with a substitution ratio of 25% showed high thermal stability,good cover effect,considerable moisture-proof and water resistance ability,great acidic and basic resistance,and improved performance and hardness in performance tests.Furthermore,the production cost was reduced significantly at this substitution ratio. 展开更多

Ti and Ti alloys are wonderful metal materials,showing excellent corrosion resistance,high specific strength and outstanding biocompatibility[1-2].They have been widely used in a variety of industries,including aerospace engineering,biomedical enginee-ring,off-shore drilling,automobile industry and even jewelry industry[1-2].To further improve their performance for satisfying the ever increasing challenging demands,Ti-based metal matrix composite becomes a cutting-edge research direction[3-4].However,intrinsic properties of most Ti materials,such as low thermal conductivity,high chemical reactivity and hexagonal close packed crystal structure,make their machining rather difficult and also push up the cost of using Ti products.Considering reinforcement phases of Ti are often hard-and-refractory ceramic particles,it is even harder to fabricate Ti composite using conventional fabrication methods[1-4]. 展开更多
