Molecular and Isotopic Characteristics of Mature Condensates from the East China Sea Shelf Basin Using GC×GC-TOFMS and GC-IRMS

In this study, biomarkers, together with stable carbon(δ13 C) and hydrogen(δD) isotopic compositions of n-alkanes have been examined in a suite of condensates collected from the East China Sea Shelf Basin(ECSSB) in order to delineate their source organic matter input, depositional conditions and evaluate their thermal maturity. Previously, GC-MS analyses have shown that all the condensates are formed in oxidizing environment with terrestrial plants as their main source input. No significant differences were apparent for biomarker parameters, likely due to the low biomarker content and high maturity of these condensates. Conventional GC-MS analysis however, may provides limited information on the sources and thermal maturity of complex mixtures due to insufficient component resolution. In the current study, we used comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with time-of-flight mass spectrometry(GC×GC-TOFMS) to increase the chromatographic resolution. Compounds such as alkyl cyclohexanes, alkyl cyclopentanes and diamondoids, which can be difficult to identify using conventional GC-MS analysis, were successfully identified using GC×GC-TOFMS. From our analyses we propose two possibly unreported indicators, including one maturity indicator(C5--cyclohexane/C5+-cyclohexane) and one oxidation-reduction environment indicator(alkyl-cyclohexane/alkyl-cyclopentane). Multiple petroleum charging events were proposed as an explanation for the maturity indicators indexes discrepancy between methyl-phenanthrene index(MPI) and methyl-adamantane index(MDI). In addition, the stable isotopic results show that condensates from the Paleogene have significantly higher positive δ13 C values of individual n-alkanes than the Neogene samples. Based on δD values, the samples can be divided into two groups, the differences between which are likely to be attributed to different biosynthetic precursors. Variation within each group can likely be attributed to vaporization. 展开更多

This paper summarizes the results of a study of adsorption of sulfur compounds from a high-sulfur feed on improved spherical-shaped nano-AgX zeolite. For this purpose, the nano-AgX zeolite was initially synthesized and improved with silver compounds such as silver nitrate, and then it was utilized in the adsorption process. In order to investigate the equilibrium and dynamics of the adsorption process, adsorptive desulfurization of real feed(i.e., sour gas condensate from the South Pars gas field) was carried out in batch and continuous processes under several operating conditions;a temperature-dependent Langmuir isotherm model was used to fit the equilibrium data. The value of monolayer adsorption capacity(q_m) and adsorption enthalpy(ΔH) were calculated to be 1.044 mmol/g and 16.8 kJ/mol, respectively. Furthermore, a detailed theoretical model was employed in order to model the breakthrough experiments. The results revealed that an increase in the feed flow rate and 1/T values will cause linear and exponential increase in the total mass transfer coefficient(ks). Isotherm and dynamic breakthrough models were found to be in agreement with the experimental data. 展开更多

We find that the atomic system can experience peculiar resonant transition even under weak optical excitations and derive the resonance condition by the perturbation method. Employing this mechanism, we propose a scheme to obtain an atomic ensemble with desired odd/even atom number and also a scheme to prepare a nonclassical state of the many-body system with fixed atom number. 展开更多

We theoretically investigate the periodically modulated interaction effect on the propagation properties of a traveling plane wave in a Bose–Einstein condensate(BEC) trapped in a deep annular lattice with local defects both analytically and numerically. By using the two-mode ansatz and the tight-binding approximation, a critical condition for the system preserving the superfluidity is obtained analytically and confirmed numerically. We find that the coupled effects of periodic modulated atomic interactions, the quasi-momentum of the plane wave, and the defect can control the superfluidity of the system. Particularly, when we consider the periodic modulation in the system with single defect, the critical condition for the system entering the superfluid regime depends on both the defect and the momentum of the plane wave. This is different from the case for the system without the periodic modulation, where the critical condition is only determined by the defect. The modulation and quasi-momentum of the plane wave can enhance the system entering the superfluid regime. Interestingly, when the modulated amplitude/frequency, the defect strength, and the quasi-momentum of the plane wave satisfy a certain condition, the system will always be in the superfluid region. This engineering provides a possible means for studying the periodic modulation effect on propagation properties and the corresponding dynamics of BECs in disordered optical lattices. 展开更多

We consider a binary dipolar Bose–Einstein condensate confined in a rotating harmonic plus quartic potential trap.The ground-state vortex structures are numerically obtained as a function of the contact interactions and the dipole–dipole interaction in both slow and rapid rotation cases. The results show that the vortex configurations depend strongly on the strength of the contact interactions, the relative strength between dipolar and contact interactions, as well as on the orientation of the dipoles. A variety of exotic ground-state vortex structures, such as pentagonal and hexagon vortex lattice,square vortex lattice with a central vortex, annular vortex lines, and straight vortex lines, are observed by turning such controllable parameters. Our results deepen the understanding of effects of dipole–dipole interaction on the topological defects. 展开更多

We consider a SU(3) spin–orbit coupled Bose–Einstein condensate confined in a harmonic plus quartic trap.The ground-state wave functions of such a system are obtained by minimizing the Gross–Pitaevskii energy functional, and the effects of the spin-dependent interaction and spin–orbit coupling are investigated in detail.For the case of ferromagnetic spin interaction, the SU(3) spin–orbit coupling induces a threefold-degenerate plane wave ground state with nontrivial spin texture.For the case of antiferromagnetic spin interaction, the system shows phase separation for weak SU(3) spin–orbit coupling, where three discrete minima with unequal weights in momentum space are selected, while hexagonal honeycomb lattice structure for strong SU(3) SOC, where three discrete minima with equal weights are selected. 展开更多

采用GC-MS分析技术,对东海盆地西湖凹陷31个原油样品进行了分子指纹研究。原油碳同位素值偏高,Pr/Ph值高,甾烷系列以C29甾烷占优,萜烷以二萜类为主,富含降异海松烷、异海松烷、扁枝烷等,C24四环萜烷含量高,伽马蜡烷含量低,富含奥利烷,... 采用GC-MS分析技术,对东海盆地西湖凹陷31个原油样品进行了分子指纹研究。原油碳同位素值偏高,Pr/Ph值高,甾烷系列以C29甾烷占优,萜烷以二萜类为主,富含降异海松烷、异海松烷、扁枝烷等,C24四环萜烷含量高,伽马蜡烷含量低,富含奥利烷,表明原油的烃源岩形成于偏氧化的沉积环境,其成烃母质主要来源于高等植物。原油含有丰富的金刚烷类化合物,总含量可达877~9797μg/g油,其中以单金刚烷系列占绝对优势(754~9333μg/g油),体现出高成熟原油的特征。认为西湖凹陷西部缓坡带平湖组原油主要来源于平湖组烃源岩的生烃晚期,并在储层中发生了不同程度的裂解;中央洼陷带花港组原油主要为高成熟油或裂解油与未裂解的、成熟度较低原油的混合油,其中成熟度较低的原油主要来自于花港组烃源岩的生烃高峰期。平湖组或其下伏烃源岩在高-过成熟阶段形成的大量凝析油、天然气,甚至深层储层原油发生裂解形成的轻质烃类进入浅部花港组储层,与储层内早期原油发生混合是造成西湖凹陷浅部原油富含金刚烷类化合物的主要原因。 展开更多

The immiscible binary mixtures of Bose–Einstein condensates can form the symmetry-breaking state, in which the domain wall on the center can serve as the interface. In this study, we explore in detail the propagation of a dark soliton interacting with the domain wall in the harmonic trap. We find that the low-energy dark soliton is easy to form the transmission and the high-energy dark soliton trends to reflect from the domain wall. Both reflection and transmission of dark soliton on the domain wall induce the sound radiation. But the sound radiation in the reflection derives from the collective oscillation of condensates, and it in the transmission comes not only from the collective oscillation, but also from the condensate filling in the dark soliton. 展开更多

We study the spatiotemporal Bloch states of a high-frequency driven two-component Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) with spin–orbit coupling (SOC) in an optical lattice.By adopting the rotating-wave approximation (RWA) and applying an exact trial-solution to the corresponding quasistationary system,we establish a different method for tuning SOC via external field such that the existence conditions of the exact particular solutions are fitted.Several novel features related to the exact states are demonstrated;for example,SOC leads to spin–motion entanglement for the spatiotemporal Bloch states,SOC increases the population imbalance of the two-component BEC,and SOC can be applied to manipulate the stable atomic flow which is conducive to control quantum transport of the BEC for different application purposes. 展开更多

We study the electromagnetically induced-absorption-like(EIA-like) effect for an n-type system in an 87Rb Bose–Einstein condensate(BEC) using the absorption imaging technique for coupling and driving lasers operating at the D1 and D2 lines of 87Rb. The coherent effect is probed by measuring the number of atoms remaining after the BEC is exposed to strong driving fields and a weak probe field. The absorption imaging technique accurately reveals the EIA-like effect of the n-type system. This coherent effect in an n-type system is useful for optical storage, tunable optical switching, and so on. 展开更多
