随着人类社会的不断进步以及科学技术的高速更新换代,当前材料科学领域有了巨大的发展与进步。而因为新材料技术的不断发展,势必对各个使用相关材料的领域有着显著的正向引导作用。在体育运动领域就是如此,因为材料技术的提升,各类新型... 随着人类社会的不断进步以及科学技术的高速更新换代,当前材料科学领域有了巨大的发展与进步。而因为新材料技术的不断发展,势必对各个使用相关材料的领域有着显著的正向引导作用。在体育运动领域就是如此,因为材料技术的提升,各类新型的材料技术在体育运动领域中应用得越来越广泛,使得各体育运动所使用的器材都得到了长足的升级。而很多体育运动的成绩又和人员使用的器材有着直接关系,因此,体育器材的升级必然使得对应的体育运动的整体成绩得到明显的提高。运动人员的成绩的普遍提升,也就加强了体育运动,尤其是竞技体育中对抗的激烈程度。文章以当前的新材料技术和体育运动以及两者之间的关系为研究对象,分析了新材料技术对于体育运动的影响,也介绍了一些新材料技术在当前的体育运动中的具体的应用实例,对于后续新材料技术的研发以及在体育运动中的应用有一定的指导意义。 展开更多

Since the Material Genome Initiative(MGI)was proposed,high-throughput based technology has been widely employed in various fields of materials science.As a theoretical guide,material informatics has been introduced based on machine learning and data mining and high-throughput computation has been employed for large scale search,narrowing down the scope of the experiment trials.High-throughput materials experiments including synthesis,processing,and characterization technologies have become valuable research tools to pin down the prediction experimentally,enabling the discovery-to-deployment of advances materials more efficiently at a fraction of cost.This review aims to summarize the recent advances of high-throughput materials experiments and introduce briefly the development of materials design based on material genome concept.By selecting representative and classic works in the past years,various high-throughput preparation methods are introduced for different types of material gradient libraries,including metallic,inorganic materials,and polymers.Furthermore,high-throughput characterization approaches are comprehensively discussed,including both their advantages and limitations.Specifically,we focus on high-throughput mass spectrometry to analyze its current status and challenges in the application of catalysts screening. 展开更多

For the accuracy of experimental results, preparing a high quality polished surface and cross-section of the materials for further analysis using electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD), electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), and scanning probe microscopy (SPM) is extremely important. Broad ion beam (BIB) polishing, a method based on the principle of ion bombardment, has irreplaceable advantages. It makes up for the drawbacks and limitations of traditional polishing methods such as mechanical polishing, electrochemical polishing, and chemical polishing. The ions will not leave the bombardment area during polishing, which makes the BIB method suitable for porous materials. The energy of the ion beam can be adjusted according to the sample to reduce the deformation and strain of the polishing area, especially for fragile, soft, and hard materials. The conditions that need to be controlled during BIB polishing are simple. This paper demonstrated the unique advantages of BIB polishing technology in porous, layered and powder materials characterization through some typical application examples, and guided more researchers to understand and utilize BIB polishing technology in the development of new applications. 展开更多

The frequency of the Love-type surface waves in a bedded structure con- sisting of a porous piezoelectric (PP) medium and a functionally graded material (FGM) substrate is approximated. The FGM layer is assumed to have a constant initial stress. The Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation technique is used for the wave solution in the FGM layer, and the method of separation of variables is applied for the solution in the porous piezoelectric medium. The dependence of the wave frequency on the wave number is obtained for both electrically open and short cases. The effects of the gradient coefficient of the FGM layer, the initial stresses (tensile stress and compressive stress), and the width of the FGM layer are marked distinctly and shown graphically. The findings may contribute towards the design and optimization of acoustic wave devices. 展开更多

Due to many remarkable physical and chemical properties, two-dimensional(2D) nanomaterials have become a hot spot in the field of condensed matter physics. In this paper, we have studied the structural, mechanical, and electronic properties of the 2D GaInO3 system by first-principles method. We find that 2D Ga InO3 can exist stably at ambient condition. Molecular dynamic simulations show that GaInO3-sheet has excellent thermal stability and is stable up to1100 K. Electronic structural calculations show that GaInO3-sheet has a band gap of 1.56 eV, which is close to the ideal band gap of solar cell materials, demonstrating great potential in future photovoltaic application. In addition, strain effect studies show that the GaInO3-sheet structure always exhibits a direct band gap under biaxial compressive strain, and as the biaxial compressive strain increases, the band gap gradually decreases until it is converted into metal. While biaxial tensile strain can cause the 2D material to transform from a direct band gap semiconductor into an indirect band gap semiconductor,and even to metal. Our research expands the application of the Ga InO3 system, which may have potential application value in electronic devices and solar energy. 展开更多

Particle breakage is commonly observed in granular materials when subjected to external loads.It was found that particle breakage would occur during both sample preparation and loading stages.However,main attention was usually paid to the particle breakage behaviour of samples during loading stage.This study attempts to explore the breakage behaviour of granular materials during sample preparation.Triaxial samples of rockfill aggregates are prepared by layered compaction method to achieve different relative densities.Extents of particle breakage based on the gradings before and after test are presented and analysed.It is found that particle breakage during sample preparation cannot be ignored.Gradings after test are observed to shift away from the initial grading.Aggregates with larger size that appear to break are more than the smaller-sized ones.Irrespective of the initial gradings,an increase in the extent of particle breakage with the increasing relative density is observed during sample preparation. 展开更多

Due to the dispersion of the optical material and the phase accumulation of the light field at different wavelengths, chromatic aberration is inevitable in commercial optical lens. When taking pictures by lenses with severe chromatic aberration, the images will look blurred or noticeably colored edges (red, green, blue) around the objects, especially in high-contrast situations. Thus, achromatism, correction of the chromatic aberration, is extremely important in broadband optical applications. There are mainly two approaches in the correction of the chromatic aberration in existing optical systems: combining the refractive lenses with different dispersions or introducing the diffractive optical elements. Recent decades witnessed the significant progress made in the research field of 2D molecular sieve membranes.In comparison with their 3D counterparts, 2D molecular sieve membranes possessed several unique advantages like significantly reduced membrane thickness(one atom thick in theory) and diversified molecular sieving mechanisms(in-plane pores within nanosheets & interlayer galleries between nanosheets). M. Tsapatsis first carried out pioneering work on fabrication of lamellar ZSM-5 membrane. Since then, diverse 2D materials typically including graphene oxides(GOs) have been fabricated into membranes showing promising prospects in energy-efficient gas separation, pervaporation, desalination and nanofiltration. In addition to GOs, other emerging 2D materials, including 2D zeolites, 2D metal–organic frameworks(MOFs), 2 D covalent-organic frameworks(COFs), layered double hydroxides(LDHs), transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs), MXenes(typically Ti3C2TX), graphitic carbon nitrides(typically g-C3N4), hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN) and montmorillonites(MT) are showing intriguing performance in membrane-based separation process. This article summarized the most recent developments in the field of 2D molecular sieve membranes aside from GOs with particular emphasis on their structure–performance relationship and application prospects in industrial separation. 展开更多

The nonlinear vibration problem is studied for a thin-walled rubber cylindrical shell composed of the classical incompressible Mooney-Rivlin material and subjected to a radial harmonic excitation. With the KirchhofF-Love hypothesis, DonnelFs nonlinear shallow shell theory, hyperelastic constitutive relation, Lagrange equations and small strain hypothesis, a system of nonlinear differential equations describing the large-deflection vibration of the shell is derived. First, the natural frequencies of radial, circumferential and axial vibrations axe studied. Then, based on the bifurcation diagrams and the Poincare sections, the nonlinear behaviors describing the radial vibration of the shell are illustrated. Examining the influences of structural and material parameters on radial vibration of the shell shows that the vibration modes are highly sensitive to the thickness-radius ratio when the ratio is less than a certain critical value. Moreover, in terms of the results of multimodal expansion, it is found that the response of the shell to radial motion is more regular than that without considering the coupling between modes, while there are more phenomena for the uncoupled case. 展开更多

Oil and organic solvent contamination, derived from oil spills and organic solvent leakage, has been recognized as one of the major environmental issues imposing a serious threat to both human and ecosystem health. Among the various presented technologies applied for oil/water separation, oil absorption process has been explored widely and offers satisfactory results especially with surface modified oil-absorbing material and/or hybrid absorbents. In this review, we summarize the recent research activities involved in the designing strategies of oil-absorbing absorbents and their application in oil absorption. Then, an extensive list of various oil-absorbing materials from literature, including polymer materials, porous inorganic materials and biomass materials, has been compiled and the oil adsorption capacities toward various types of oils and organic solvents as available in the literature are presented along with highlighting and discussing the various factors involved in the designing of oil-absorbing absorbents tested so far for oil/water separation. Finally, some future trends and perspectives in oil-absorbing material are outlined. 展开更多

Kevlar is the most commonly used material as armour for protection against bullets used in hand guns because of its impact resistance,high strength and low weight.These properties make Kevlar an ideal material to be used in bullet-proof vests as compared to other materials.In the present study,different numbers of layers of Kevlar with different weights are tested to determine the weights and the number of layers needed to design a safe bullet-proof vest.For this purpose,several ballistic tests were performed on combinations of ballistic gel and Kevlar layers of different weights.Ballistic impacts are generated by 9mm Parabellum ammunition.The objective is to assess the characteristics of high-speed ballistic penetration into a combination of a gel and Kevlar and determine the number of layers needed to safely stop the 9mm bullet and thereby contribute to the design of safe bullet-proof vests.The tests provide information on the distances the bullets can travel in a gel/Kevlar medium before they are stopped and to identify the resistance capabilities of Kevlar of different grams per square meter(GSM).The tests were conducted with the use of a chronograph in a controlled test environment.Specifically,results identify the number of layers of Kevlar required to stop a 9mm Parabellum projectile,and the effectiveness of using different number of layers of GSM Kevlar material. 展开更多
