It can increase the amount of loosen soil by 1-2 times, water and oxygen by 1 time, and available nutrients by 10%-30%, surface air humidity by more than 10%, crop net photosynthetic efficiency by 10%-30%, biomass by 20%-30%, crop yield by 10%-50%, and crop quality by 5%, and decrease salt content by 20%-40% and the emission of methane and other gases by 10%. In this study, it is firstly proposed to establish a new research field——"Fenlong science of natural resources"(referred to as "Fenlong science"), and the research contents include Fenlong-based sciences of modern agricultural machinery and equipment for full-layer ploughing and bottom ploughing, tillage, crop cultivation, utilization of water resources (natural precipitation, farmland water conservancy, groundwater resources, etc.), conversion and utilization of saline-alkali land, arable degraded grassland reconstruction, ecological reconstruction of desertification land, ecological environment, climate change, economic and social development. This article is focused on technical and economic evaluation of more than 6-years experiences of operating the Waste Heat Recovery technology—the manner and system of flue gas processing generated in the combustion process in heat & power plants, cogeneration units, etc., which burn the gaseous fuel, primarily natural gas, or methane, biogas, geothermal gas, or other gaseous mixtures containing hydrogen. The solution proposes a more effective and non-traditional use of gaseous fuel for heating, the flue gases of which are processed in order to extract additional utilisable heat, with potential elimination of CO2 from them. Deploying of the heating plant in an island regime (OFF-GRID) enables definition of the benefits brought by the 3 years of operational experience and presents visions for the future offering the possibility to utilise the support energy services at the municipal as well as regional level. 展开更多

Genetic type and source of natural gas in the southern margin of Junggar Basin, NW China 预览

Natural gas has been discovered in many anticlines in the southern margin of the Junggar Basin. However, the geochemical characteristics of natural gas in different anticlines haven’t been compared systematically, particularly, the type and source of natural gas discovered recently in Well Gaotan-1 at the Gaoquan anticline remain unclear. The gas composition characteristics and carbon and hydrogen isotope compositions in different anticlines were compared and sorted systematically to identify genetic types and source of the natural gas. The results show that most of the gas samples are wet gas, and a few are dry gas;the gas samples from the western and middle parts have relatively heavier carbon isotope composition and lighter hydrogen isotope composition, while the gas samples from the eastern part of southern basin have lighter carbon and hydrogen isotope compositions. The natural gas in the southern margin is thermogenic gas generated by freshwater-brackish water sedimentary organic matter, which can be divided into three types, coal-derived gas, mixed gas and oil-associated gas, in which coal-derived gas and mixed gas take dominance. The Jurassic coal measures is the main natural gas source rock in the southern margin, and the Permian lacustrine and the Upper Triassic lacustrine-limnetic facies source rocks are also important natural gas source rocks. The natural gas in the western part of the southern margin is derived from the Jurassic coal measures and the Permian lacustrine source rock, while the natural gas in the middle part of the southern margin is mainly derived from the Jurassic coal measures, partly from the Permian and/or the Upper Triassic source rocks, and the natural gas in the eastern part of the southern margin is originated from the Permian lacustrine source rock. The natural gas in the Qingshuihe oil and gas reservoir of Well Gaotan-1 is a mixture of coal-derived gas and oil-associated gas, of which the Jurassic and Permian source rocks contribute about half each. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Chronic hepatitis B is a highly heterogeneous disease that can be divided into four phases: Immune tolerant (IT), immune active (IA), inactive carrier (IC) and hepatitis B envelope antigen (HBeAg)-negative hepatitis (ENEG). AIM To investigate the immune status of natural killer (NK) and T cells in different phases of chronic hepatitis B. METHODS The frequency, phenotype and function of circulating NK cells, as well as nonantigen-specific and hepatitis B virus (HBV)-specific T cell responses were detected by flow cytometry in healthy and HBV-infected subjects. RESULTS The ability of NK cells to produce IFN-γ was markedly attenuated in HBVinfected patients overall but was less compromised in IC patients. Patients in the IT and IA phases also displayed significantly lower TNF-α production compared to healthy subjects. NK cells were phenotypically activated in the IA and ENEG phases, as evidenced by the upregulation of NKp44 in CD56bright NK cells and CD69 in CD56dim NK cells. Furthermore, global T-cells from the ENEG phase displayed a proinflammatory cytokine profile with upregulated IFN-γ and TNF-α expression, while this profile was suppressed in IT and IA patients. Finally, core and S antigen-specific T cell responses were significantly stronger after in vitro expansion in the IC phase compared to other phases. CONCLUSION Our findings demonstrate the changes in immune response pattern during the natural history of HBV infection. Both NK and T cells are functionally impaired in the IT and IA phases. With the spontaneous clearance of HBeAg and hepatitis B surface antigen decline, NK cell cytokine production and HBV-specific T responses are partially restored in IC phase, and the ENEG phase is dominated by nonantigen-specific T cell responses. 展开更多

Hot air producing is one of the most important engineering applications in recent years.It is a technique used in various thermodynamic systems,such as home heating systems,food dryers.One of the main problems impeding the spread of hot air producing technology is the lack of homogeneity of the heat flow coming from hot air generators as well as an inadequate flow rate.The most of the existing hot air generators require to be supported by systems that can increase the low volumetric flow and the air temperature of these generators,through increasing the speed of the flow of air emitted or lifting the drawer Heat,which contributes to raising the overall cost.However,to improve the thermal and dynamic quality of the hot air flow produced by the generator,a numerical investigation of the free convection flow inside two different configurations is presented in this thesis.The primary objective of this work is to predict the behavior of the flow inside tow configurations,the first one consists of a vertical cylinder with heated walls,and the second configuration is an open-ended vertical cylinder with a hot disc placed at the entrance(configuration A,configuration B).This work characterizes through the examination of this flow,the variables that control an air emission with high flow rate and a high and homogeneous temperature to represent the appropriate criteria that should be respected to obtain a hot air generator overcoming the previously mentioned constraints.Furthermore;the results of this work show the influence the boundary conditions and Rayleigh number on the resulting flow. 展开更多

Natural course of pineal cysts—a radiographic study

Background:Pineal cysts (PCs) are a benign lesion of the pineal gland that have been known to the medical community for a long time.With a prevalence rate of approximately 1% in the general population,PC is often a reason for medical counseling.The natural course of PC morphology has not been well described.In this study,we present a longitudinal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) study of patients with PCs,with special focus on those who showed an increase or decrease in PC size.Methods:We enrolled all patients with a PC who were referred to our department between January 2000 and January 2018.Each patient underwent a clinical examination,and the patient's age,sex,and presenting signs and symptoms were noted.MRI was performed during periodic examinations,and a clinical and radiological course was reassessed.Results:In total,133 patients (99 women,34 men) were enrolled.The mean maximum diameter was 12.7 ± 5.2 mm (range 7-35 mm).PCs increased in size during the follow-up in seven patients (5.3%) and decreased in size in 10 (7.5%).The remaining cysts (n =116,87.2%) were stable over the follow-up period.Analyzing patients according to cyst size change,we found a significant difference in the mean age between the PC progression group and PC regression group (p =0.01).The mean size of the PCs at the time of diagnosis did not differ significantly between the two groups (p =0.81).We diagnosed two cases of pineal apoplexy.Conclusion:We found that PCs are a dynamic structure that may change in size during the patient's lifetime.Patients with an increase in PC size were significantly younger than patients with a decrease in size.Therefore,PC growth in the first,second,and third decennium is normal and does not justify medical intervention.Surgery is indicated in cases of hydrocephalus and Parinaud's syndrome or in atypical cysts when neoplasia is suspected.The size of a PC does not predict PC behavior in terms of a future increase or decrease in size. 展开更多

Polymer composites reinforced with the biofibers are found to have improved applications in many fields and also they can reduce the environmental effect. In this work, caryota-a new natural fiber for polymer composites is fabricated and their tensile, flexural and impact properties are estimated to be used in economical and lightweight load carrying structures. Laminates at different weight fraction (wt%) of 10 wt%, 20 wt%, 25 wt%, 30 wt%, 35 wt%, 40 wt% and 45 wt% are manufactured using a compression molding technique. Results asserted that the unidirectional arrangement having 40 wt% fiber posses good properties. Also the dynamic characteristics such as natural frequency and damping study are carried out for different wt% of unidirectional caryota fiber reinforced composite laminates by ex? perimental modal analysis. From this study, it has been asserted that by using the caryota fiber reinforced polyester composites, the traditional synthetic fiber can be replaced especially in automobile sector. If the caryota fiber reinforced composite material is applied properly, then its application fields will be improved. 展开更多

Hyaluronic acid(HA) is a natural ligand of tumor-targeted drug delivery systems(DDS) due to the relevant CD44 receptor overexpressed on tumor cell membranes. However, other HA receptors(HARE and LYVE-1) are also overexpressing in the reticuloendothelial system(RES). Therefore,polyethylene glycol(PEG) modification of HA-based DDS is necessary to reduce RES capture.Unfortunately, pegylation remarkably inhibits tumor cellular uptake and endosomal escapement,significantly compromising the in vivo antitumor efficacy. Herein, we developed a Dox-loaded HA-based transformable supramolecular nanoplatform(Dox/HCVBP) to overcome this dilemma. Dox/HCVBP contains a tumor extracellular acidity-sensitive detachable PEG shell achieved by a benzoic imine linkage.The in vitro and in vivo investigations further demonstrated that Dox/HCVBP could be in a 'stealth' state at blood stream for a long circulation time due to the buried HA ligands and the minimized nonspecific interaction by PEG shell. However, it could transform into a 'recognition' state under the tumor acidic microenvironment for efficient tumor cellular uptake due to the direct exposure of active targeting ligand HA following PEG shell detachment. Such a transformative concept provides a promising strategy to resolve the dilemma of natural ligand-based DDS with conflicting two processes of tumor cellular uptake and in vivo nonspecific biodistribution. 展开更多

Automatic test report augmentation to assist crowdsourced testing

In crowdsourced mobile application testing, workers are often inexperienced in and unfamiliar with software testing. Meanwhile, workers edit test reports in descriptive natural language on mobile devices. Thus, these test reports generally lack important details and challenge developers in understanding the bugs. To improve the quality of inspected test reports, we issue a new problem of test report augmentation by leveraging the additional useful information contained in duplicate test reports. In this paper, we propose a new framework named test report augmentation framework (TRAF) towards resolving the problem. First, natural language processing (NLP) techniques are adopted to preprocess the crowdsourced test reports. Then, three strategies are proposed to augment the environments, inputs, and descriptions of the inspected test reports, respectively. Finally, we visualize the augmented test reports to help developers distinguish the added information. To evaluate TRAF, we conduct experiments over five industrial datasets with 757 crowdsourced test reports. Experimental results show that TRAF can recommend relevant inputs to augment the inspected test reports with 98.49% in terms of NDCG and 88.65% in terms of precision on average, and identify valuable sentences from the descriptions of duplicates to augment the inspected test reports with 83.58% in terms of precision, 77.76% in terms of recall, and 78.72% in terms of F-measure on average. Meanwhile, empirical evaluation also demonstrates that augmented test reports can help developers understand and fix bugs better. 展开更多

The calamitous consequences of 2017 Hurricane Maria for the Caribbean island of Dominica highlighted the acute and increasing susceptibility of the region to disasters. Despite increasing international attention to disaster risk reduction, recovery from hazard events can be especially lengthy and difficult for small island developing states. In this article, we build on existing understandings of disaster risk as a physical and social condition, showing that historical processes are fundamental to understanding how conditions of risk emerge and persist over time. We take an integrated approach to analyzing the drivers of risk accumulation, using the example of Dominica, where processes set in motion during the colonial period have shaped the location of people and assets, the degree to which they might be harmed, the societal repercussions of that harm and the prospects for recovery. We focus on the underlying economic vulnerabilities and physical exposure to hazards created by agricultural, economic, and social practices, and successive disaster responses that have constrained recovery. Uncovering these historical drivers and persistent issues, elucidates lessons for pursuing a more resilient development trajectory, including through the promotion of economic restructuring and diversification, and land reform. 展开更多

The prevalence of cardiovascular diseases(CVDs)is increasing at a rapid pace in developed countries,and CVDs are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality.Natural products and ethnomedicine have been shown to reduce the risk of CVDs.Schizonepeta(S.)tenuifolia is a medicinal plant widely used in China,Korea,and Japan and is known to exhibit anti-inflammatory,antioxidant,and immunomodulatory activities.We hypothesized that given herbal plant exhibit pharmacological activities against CVDs,we specifically explored its effects on platelet function.Platelet aggregation was evaluated using standard light transmission aggregometry.Intracellular calcium mobilization was assessed using Fura-2/AM,and granule secretion(ATP release)was measured in a luminometer.Fibrinogen binding to integrin a_(Ⅱb)β_3,was assessed using flow cytometry.Phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)signaling molecules and activation of the protein kinase B(Akt)was assessed using Western blot assays.S.tenuifolia,extract potently and significantly inhibited platelet aggregation,calcium mobilization,granule secretion,and fibrinogen binding to integrin a_(Ⅱb)β_3.Moreover,all extracts significantly inhibited MAPK and Akt phosphorylation.S.tenuifolia extract inhibited platelet aggregation and granule secretion,and attenuated collagen mediated GPVI downstream signaling,indicating the potential therapeutic effects of these plant extracts on the cardiovascular system and platelet function.We suggest that S.tenuifolia extract may be a potent candidate to treat platelet-related CVDs and to be used as an antiplatelet and antithrombotic agent. 展开更多

目的探讨抑制性受体TIGIT基因在类风湿关节炎(RA)患者外周血NK细胞中的表达情况及其临床意义。方法病例对照研究。选择2018年12月至2019年6月江西中医药大学附属医院风湿免疫科58例RA患者作为RA疾病组(其中疾病活动亚组30例,疾病缓解亚... 目的探讨抑制性受体TIGIT基因在类风湿关节炎(RA)患者外周血NK细胞中的表达情况及其临床意义。方法病例对照研究。选择2018年12月至2019年6月江西中医药大学附属医院风湿免疫科58例RA患者作为RA疾病组(其中疾病活动亚组30例,疾病缓解亚组28例),健康对照组(HC)22名。收集受试者的相关临床资料,应用流式细胞术比较两组外周血NK细胞TIGIT基因表达水平,ELISA法检测外周血细胞因子IFN-γ分泌水平,并分析TIGIT基因与疾病活动度及IFN-γ分泌水平的相关性。两组间比较采用t检验或者非参数检验,两变量之间相关性采用Pearson相关分析。结果RA疾病组外周血NK细胞数为(13.88±4.56)×10^7个/L,HC组为(25.69±2.48)×10^7个/L,RA疾病组相较于HC组减少(t=-2.036,P=0.041),外周血NK细胞上TIGIT基因表达的百分率在RA疾病组(39.73±9.37)%与HC组(45.64±9.91)%之间的差异无统计学意义(t=-1.241,P=0.218);但TIGIT基因表达的平均荧光强度(MFI)降低,RA疾病组为(7.21±2.03),HC组为(9.01±3.29),(t=-2.947,P=0.004)。疾病活动亚组TIGIT基因在NK细胞上的MFI为(6.72±2.01),低于疾病缓解亚组(8.75±2.64),(t=-3.316,P=0.002),且疾病活动亚组TIGIT基因在NK细胞上的MFI与DAS28评分呈负相关(r^2=0.6496,P<0.0001)。RA疾病组细胞因子IFN-γ分泌水平为(67.13±14.84)pg/ml,高于HC组(57.21±14.23)pg/ml(t=2.757,P=0.017),且疾病活动亚组细胞因子IFN-γ分泌水平与TIGIT基因在NK细胞上的MFI呈负相关(r2=0.6622,P<0.0001)。RA疾病活动亚组外周血单个核细胞刺激实验结果显示刺激后相较于刺激前细胞因子IFN-γ分泌水平降低(t=11.38,P<0.0001)。结论RA患者外周血NK细胞TIGIT基因表达异常,与疾病的活动性及IFN-γ的分泌水平相关。 展开更多

An Unmitigated Disaster: Shifting from Response and Recovery to Mitigation for an Insurable Future

To manage disaster risk, government commissioned inquiries have called for greater investment in mitigation. This article critically examines the call for a shift in funding priority towards pre-disaster mitigation measures, in the context of growing concerns around the ability of households to access and afford insurance. It examines mitigation measures in the context of three prominent Australian disasters: the Black Saturday bushfires(Victoria, 2009), the Queensland floods(2010–2011), and Cyclone Yasi(Queensland, 2011). We argue that as a mode of disaster security, mitigation operates as a complex assemblage of logics and practices of protection, preparedness, and resilience, which problematizes simplistic protection/resilience binaries. On the one hand, mitigation serves as a mode of protection, which underscores the dominant maladaptive rationality of insurance. It promises a collective solution to uninsurability that is limited by government fiscal constraints and growing employment of risk-reflective insurance pricing.On the other hand, there is evidence of an emergent rationality of household insurance as a path to resilience and preparedness—for example, in the development of insurance systems that price household retrofitting technologies and in the development of policyholder education campaigns. This resilience rationality holds the promise of securing individuals previously excluded from insurance.However, for householders lacking the necessary physical,cognitive, and financial capacities to make themselves and their properties resilient, the transition to a pre-disaster mitigation mode of security will likely do little to alleviate disadvantage and marginalization. 展开更多

Since the Chinese economy entered the“new normal”stage,natural gas consumption in China has been sluggish and supply and demand have been relaxed.At the same time,environmental protection policies are intensified and the marketization process is accelerated.Many factors have intertwined with each other and affected China’s natural gas consumption.Judging from China’s economic growth,structural adjustment of and energy consumption,and the scale and structure of global natural gas utilization,we believe that there is still significant rise of natural gas consumption in China.However,there are still many problems that hinders the utilization of natural gas,which may be solved by policies and market-oriented reforms.Taking natural gas-based distributed energy as an example,this paper analyzes the change and influence of relevant policies,and puts forward proposed incentive policies to promote the utilization of natural gas in China under the economic“new normal”. 展开更多

Mental health interventions following disasters have been criticized as individualistic, incomplete, and culturally insensitive. This article showcases the effects of a culturally relevant and sustainable psychosocial capacitybuilding project at the epicenter of the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake. Specifically, the project focuses on women, a group that has received limited attention in post-disaster recovery in China. This qualitative research study(N = 14)sheds light on the characteristics and processes of the implementation of a post-disaster psychosocial intervention project in rural China. In addition, by adopting the Success Case Method as an evaluation approach, this study elucidates its effects on the psychological and social changes of the disaster victims. The findings capture five aspects of psychosocial changes: enriched daily life, better mood,enhanced self-confidence, increased willingness to socialize, and the provision of mutual help. This study hopes to encourage more culturally relevant and empowering practices for women in building their psychosocial capacity after disasters. 展开更多

Population-influenced spatiotemporal pattern of natural disaster and social crisis in China, AD1-1910

Researchers mostly ascribe contemporary natural disaster and the concomitant social crisis to anomalous climate change or global warming. However, whether such a relationship is still valid in long-term historical settings remains doubtful. In this study, data obtained from historical records about natural calamities(flood and drought) and their social impacts(famine,cannibalism, and war) at provincial and decadal scales during AD1–1910 are applied to mathematical statistics such as correlation and regression analysis as well as spatial visualization. Also, the role of population in the nexus of meteorological catastrophes and human miseries is investigated. Results show that at the provincial scale, generally there is high consistency among different variables and most of them are clustered in eastern part of China, especially in the north. More in-depth examinations indicate regional disparities that variables account for higher proportion in the south during the later imperial era,which may be attributed to the southward movement of population center. At the decadal scale, drought is the primary contributor to famine and cannibalism, while severe or even out-of-control famine i.e. cannibalism is more likely to incur war than ordinary famine per se. Besides, population growth rate exerts its positive effect on natural hazards and food crises, whereas more wars bring population loss and relieve population stress despite the weak negative association. These findings supplement previous views and confirm that the distributions of disasters in ancient China are affected by population rather than climatic variability, which only determines the occurrence of disaster. 展开更多
