In the wide context of facility management,several processes,such as operations,maintenance,retrofitting,and renovations,ensure that buildings comply with the principles of efficiency,cost-effectiveness,and indoor comfort.Apart from ordinary operation,facility management is responsible for the renovation of and long-term performance improvement of building facilities.In such a scenario,the cyber–physical system(CPS)paradigm with holonic architecture,which is the focus of this study,can successfully guide the operation management and long-term refurbishment processes of buildings.Analogous to the manufacturing field,the developed CPS maximizes holons’self-configuration and self-organization and overall throughput effectiveness metrics to detect the best corrective actions toward system improvements.Consequently,suggestions and lessons learned from the evaluation of building efficiency are redirected to the building information model.Hence,the digital model acts as a repository of currently available equipment for operations management and the history of diagnoses that support decision-making during the maintenance,retrofitting,and renovation processes.Evidently,the repeated detection of a specific issue,which is unaffected by operations management,should be considered an opportunity to act and enhance the performances of existing building components.Similar to a goods-producing industry,the building management system developed in this study applies the aforementioned methodology to provide services related to indoor comfort and building health.This approach indicates that a method for automatic real-time diagnosis is tested in a case study consisting of a multi-use and large public building.The current paper,which is an extended version of the one presented in the Creative Construction Conference 2018,deepens the decision support tool and the supervision policy.Moreover,the developed system is contextualized by providing an example of use case and highlighting the step forward in the field of smart buildings. 展开更多

Storage backends of parallel compute clusters are still based mostly on magnetic disks,while newer and faster storage technologies such as flash-based SSDs or non-volatile random access memory(NVRAM)are deployed within compute nodes.Including these new storage technologies into scientific workflows is unfortunately today a mostly manual task,and most scientists therefore do not take advantage of the faster storage media.One approach to systematically include nodelocal SSDs or NVRAMs into scientific workflows is to deploy ad hoc file systems over a set of compute nodes,which serve as temporary storage systems for single applications or longer-running campaigns.This paper presents results from the Dagstuhl Seminar 17202"Challenges and Opportunities of User-Level File Systems for HPC"and discusses application scenarios as well as design strategies for ad hoc file systems using node-local storage media.The discussion includes open research questions,such as how to couple ad hoc file systems with the batch scheduling environment and how to schedule stage-in and stage-out processes of data between the storage backend and the ad hoc file systems.Also presented are strategies to build ad hoc file systems by using reusable components for networking and how to improve storage device compatibility.Various interfaces and semantics are presented,for example those used by the three ad hoc file systems BeeOND,GekkoFS,and BurstFS.Their presentation covers a range from file systems running in production to cutting-edge research focusing on reaching the performance limits of the underlying devices. 展开更多

Many scientific fields increasingly use high-performance computing(HPC)to process and analyze massive amounts of experimental data while storage systems in today's HPC environments have to cope with new access patterns.These patterns include many metadata operations,small I/O requests,or randomized file I/O,while general-purpose parallel file systems have been optimized for sequential shared access to large files.Burst buffer file systems create a separate file system that applications can use to store temporary data.They aggregate node-local storage available within the compute nodes or use dedicated SSD clusters and offer a peak bandwidth higher than that of the backend parallel file system without interfering with it.However,burst buffer file systems typically offer many features that a scientific application,running in isolation for a limited amount of time,does not require.We present GekkoFS,a temporary,highly-scalable file system which has been specifically optimized for the aforementioned use cases.GekkoFS provides relaxed POSIX semantics which only offers features which are actually required by most(not all)applications.GekkoFS is,therefore,able to provide scalable I/O performance and reaches millions of metadata operations already for a small number of nodes,significantly outperforming the capabilities of common parallel file systems. 展开更多

This study creates and combines the general maneuver libraries for fixed-wing aircraft to implement tactical maneuvers.First,the generalized maneuver libraries are established by analyzing the characteristics of tactical maneuvers required in battlefields.The 7th order polynomial is applied to both the creation of the maneuver libraries and the generation of the trajectories or flight paths for modal inputs.To track the desired trajectory,we design the Attitude Command Attitude Hold(ACAH)system and the Rate Command Rate Hold(RCRH)system using Model Following Controller(MFC).Moreover,the Line-of-Sight(LOS)guidance law is designed.In particular,the CONDUIT~?is employed to optimize the gains so that the control systems meet the aircraft Handling Qualities(HQ)criteria.Finally,flight simulations are performed for the longitudinal loop,immelmann-turn,and climb-slalom-descent maneuvers to verify that tactical aggressive maneuvers are realizable via the combination of maneuver libraries.This study can contribute to the development of flight techniques for aircraft tactical maneuvers and to the revision of air force operational manuals. 展开更多

In this paper, a novel non-monotonic Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach is proposed to deal with the stability analysis and stabilization problem of linear discrete time-delay systems. This technique is utilized to relax the monotonic requirement of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii theorem. In this regard, the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is allowed to increase in a few steps, while being forced to be overall decreasing. As a result, it relays on a larger class of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals to provide stability of a state-delay system. To this end, using the non-monotonic Lyapunov-Krasovskii theorem, new sufficient conditions are derived regarding linear matrix inequalities(LMIs)to study the global asymptotic stability of state-delay systems.Moreover, new stabilization conditions are also proposed for time-delay systems in this article. Both simulation and experimental results on a p H neutralizing process are provided to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method. 展开更多

This work deals with the robust D-stability test of linear time-invariant(LTI) general fractional order control systems in a closed loop where the system and/or the controller may be of fractional order. The concept of general implies that the characteristic equation of the LTI closed loop control system may be of both commensurate and non-commensurate orders, both the coefficients and the orders of the characteristic equation may be nonlinear functions of uncertain parameters, and the coefficients may be complex numbers. Some new specific areas for the roots of the characteristic equation are found so that they reduce the computational burden of testing the robust D-stability. Based on the value set of the characteristic equation, a necessary and sufficient condition for testing the robust D-stability of these systems is derived. Moreover, in the case that the coefficients are linear functions of the uncertain parameters and the orders do not have any uncertainties, the condition is adjusted for further computational burden reduction. Various numerical examples are given to illustrate the merits of the achieved theorems. 展开更多

The implementation of the Grain for Green Program(GGP)has changed the development track of the agricultural eco-economic system in China.In response to the results of a lag study that investigated the coupling between the GGP and the agricultural eco-economic system in a loess hilly region,we used a structural equation model to analyze the survey data from 494 households in Ansai,a district of Yan’an City in Shaanxi Province of China in 2015.The model clarified the direction and intensity of the coupling between the GGP and the agricultural eco-economic system.The coupling benefits were derived through linkages between the program and various chains in the agricultural eco-economic system.The GGP,the agroecosystem of Ansai and their potential coupling effects were in a state of general coordination.The agroecosystem directly affected the coupling effect,with the standardized path coefficient of 0.87,indicating that the agroecosystem in Ansai at this stage provided basic material support for the coupling between the GGP and the agricultural eco-economic system.The direct path coefficient of agroeconomic system impacted on the coupling effect was-0.76,indicating that partial contradictions occurred between the agroeconomic system and the coupling effect.Therefore,although the current agroecosystem in Ansai should be provided sufficient agroecological resources for the benign coupling between the program and the agricultural eco-economic system,agricultural development failed to effectively transform agroecological resources into agricultural economic advantages in this region,which resulted in a relative lag in the development of the agricultural economic system.Thus,the coupling between the GGP and the agricultural eco-economic system was poor.To improve the coupling and the sustainable development of the agricultural eco-economic system in cropland retirement areas,the industrial structure needs to be diversified,the agricultural resources(including agroecological resources,agricultural economic resources and a 展开更多

Time-varying systems are applied extensively in practical applications,and their related parameter identification techniques are of great significance for structural health monitoring of time-varying systems.To improve the identification accuracy for time-varying systems,this study puts forward a novel parameter identification approach in the time-frequency domain using intrinsic chirp component decomposition(ICCD).ICCD is a powerful tool for signal decomposition and parameter extraction,with good signal reconstruction capability in a high-noise environment.To maintain good identification effects for the time-varying system in a noisy environment,the proposed method introduces a redundant Fourier model for the non-stationary signal,including instantaneous frequency(IF)and instantaneous amplitude(IA).The accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed approach are demonstrated by a single-degree-of-freedom system with three types of time-varying parameters,as well as an example of a multi-degree-of-freedom system.The effects of different levels of measured noise on the identified results are also discussed in detail.Numerical results show that the proposed method is very effective in tracking the smooth,periodical,and non-smooth variations of time-varying systems over the entire identification time period even when the response signal is contaminated by intense noise. 展开更多

Given the multiple varieties and small batches,the production of industrial robots faces the ongoing challenges of flexibility,self-organization,self-configuration,and other“smart”requirements.Recently,cyber physical systems have provided a promising solution for the requirements mentioned above.Despite recent progress,some critical issues have not been fully addressed at the shop floor level,including dynamic reorganization and reconfiguration,ubiquitous networking,and time constrained computing.Toward the next generation production system for industrial robots,this study proposed a hybrid architecture for smart assembly shop floors with closed-loop dynamic cyber physical interactions.Aiming for dynamic reorganization and reconfiguration,the study also proposed modularized smart assembly units for the deployment of physical assembly processes.Enabling technologies,such as multiagent system(MAS),self-organized wireless sensor actuator networks,and edge computing,were discussed and then integrated into the proposed architecture.Furthermore,a multijoint robot assembly process was selected as a target scenario.Thus,an MAS was developed to simulate the coordination and negotiation mechanisms for the proposed architecture on the basis of the Java Agent Development Framework platform. 展开更多

In this paper,we proposed a new design scheme of real time electronic countermeasure simulation system.This paper mainly expounds the modeling and realization methods of each part of the whole simulation system,and the real-time property of system has been lucubrated.Electronic countermeasure simulation system is the key part of military training of individuals;it can also allow the realistic evaluation of the performance of modern equipments and techniques.As a proof,we have drawn up a series of simulation scenarios,such as radar electronic reconnaissance simulation scenario,to explain the feasibility and the superiority of our modeling scheme in this paper. 展开更多

With the eruption of big data,practical recommendation schemes are now very important in various fields,including e-commerce,social networks,and a number of web-based services.Nowadays,there exist many personalized movie recommendation schemes utilizing publicly available movie datasets(e.g.,MovieLens and Netflix),and returning improved performance metrics(e.g.,Root-Mean-Square Error(RMSE)).However,two fundamental issues faced by movie recommendation systems are still neglected:first,scalability,and second,practical usage feedback and verification based on real implementation.In particular,Collaborative Filtering(CF)is one of the major prevailing techniques for implementing recommendation systems.However,traditional CF schemes suffer from a time complexity problem,which makes them bad candidates for real-world recommendation systems.In this paper,we address these two issues.Firstly,a simple but high-efficient recommendation algorithm is proposed,which exploits users1 profile attributes to partition them into several clusters.For each cluster,a virtual opinion leader is conceived to represent the whole cluster,such that the dimension of the original useritem matrix can be significantly reduced,then a Weighted Slope One-VU method is designed and applied to the virtual opinion leader-item matrix to obtain the recommendation results.Compared to traditional clusteringbased CF recommendation schemes,our method can significantly reduce the time complexity,while achieving comparable recommendation performance.Furthermore,we have constructed a real personalized web-based movie recommendation system,MovieWatch,opened it to the public,collected user feedback on recommendations,and evaluated the feasibility and accuracy of our system based on this real-world data. 展开更多
